NaturBuild tackles the challenges for a more sustainable construction

Yesterday, 10th July, took place the final dissemination event of our project, in the framework of the first conference on ‘Training and Employment Initiatives for Sustainable Construction’, organised by the Fundación Laboral de la Construcción (FLC). During the event, we had the colaboration of the sustainability group of the entity to address the important current issue of qualification and employment needs in sustainable construction through our project ‘NaturBuild’.

The event was held at the Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos de Madrid (COAM) and could be followed both in person and online, as it was streamed on the FLC’s YouTube channel.

The day was structured in several panels and round tables to address the results of the project, as well as the latest developments in the sector in relation to sustainable construction (regulations, initiatives and public policies) and training innovations in the field.

The inauguration was led by the main sectoral agents at national level. This was followed by a presentation of the project, its main results, objectives and milestones achieved.

During the day, in order to exchange synergies between European projects related to training and sustainable construction, and to broaden the impact by reaching a wider audience, other European Union‘s initiatives (BUILD UP Skills ‘Construye 2030’, ‘BuildOffsiteEU’ and ‘Cimientos para el Empleo’) were also presented.

Following the exchange of synergies, a representative of the Public Administration gave an aspirational speech in which he offered a ‘holistic and integrated vision of sustainability in the construction sector’.

Finally, a panel discussion on ‘training and employment needs arising from the ecological and energy transition’ was held with members of the FLC’s sustainability working group, business representatives and scientists. After this debate, a representative of COAM was in charge of closing the event.
