What is NaturBuild?

NaturBuild is a project co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union under the 2021 Key Action 2 call. Cooperative Partnerships in Education and Training, which develops training in green roofs for urban and building sustainability.
This project was born in a context of ecological transition in which, according to UN, cities are responsible for 60-80 % of energy consumption and for 75% of carbon emissions. As a result, it is expected that by 2030 35 millons of buildings will need to be renovated and up to 160.000 additional ‘green’ jobs will be created in the construction sector. To make up for this labour demand, NaturBuild develops an online and free course to train anyone interested in all phases of green roof construction.
This new activity has an important potential in the construction sector and it requieres qualified personnel with skills that respond to the full cycle of green roofs: installation, maintenance and deconstruction.
