Presentation of the Interactive Map on Nature-based Solutions
The partners of the ‘NaturBuild’ project met for the third time in the Italian city of Piacenza on 21-22 June to present the Interactive Map on Nature-based Solutions and the analysis of what competences are needed to carry out the construction, maintenance and deconstruction of green roofs.
During the meeting, the project partners shared their progress in the development of training modules, specialised in green roofs, aimed at workers in the sector.
They also validated the ‘NaturBuild’ Interactive Map, which shows some examples of green roofs installed in Spain, Greece, Italy and Portugal, as an example of good practices applied to achieve urban and building sustainability.
The Italian School of Construction (Ente Scuola Edile -ESE-), as partners in charge of the meeting, planned a visit to the financial city of Milan, accompanied by the technology company Harpo Verdepensile, to learn how green roofs have been designed and installed in these buildings. In addition, the maintenance of the roofs was discussed through the installation of cranes on the roof that allow pruning and other gardening work to be carried out.
